Description
This specimen consists of botryoidal crystals of smithsonite from the recent Congo finds. The smithsonite shows a rich blue color with shimmering crystals. The coloration is due to inclusions of aurichalcite, and is relatively uncommon for smithsonite. On a closer level, the crystals display complex features with lots of micro-stepping that look pretty neat under magnification. A nice piece with a beautiful color!
