Description

Here is a HUGE plate of growth-interfered, hedenbergite and actinolite included quartz crystals (aka prase quartz). This is a very rare and unique piece, unlike any other I’ve ever seen. Much of the quartz look chopped up with unequal proportions forming sceptered and reverse sceptered crystals leading up to both flattened terminations and crystals that have been fused together. The crystals at the bottom that aren’t terminated are where dissected plates of the interfered quartz fused together and is not damage. The crystals that haven’t been interfered have dozens of micro-terminations running up every side. Hedenbergite can easily be seen on the underside of the specimen along with more of the fused/dissected quartz planes and a few small andradite crystals as well. This is a very unusual and incredible example of this rare Russian material. I think it’s safe to say that you won’t find another piece like it! Pictures and videos don’t do this piece justice. It is loaded with details that can only be seen in person. A serious collector’s specimen!
