Description
Muscovite formed as an epimorph after a very large carlsbad twinned crystal of orthoclase from the Erongo Mountains of Namibia. Goshenite crystals are randomly scattered across the front side of the specimen, some being doubly terminated. The reverse side reveals the cast-like footprint of the orthoclase. There are a few small deep purple fluorite crystals along one side and some occasional black tourmaline needles. The camera washed out the yellowish color of the muscovite in the opening photo. A cool combo with a neat morphology! Dimensions: 9.3 by 9 by 7.6
