Description
Chrysocolla has settled into large calcite rhombs and coated with sugary druzy quartz. The chrysocolla partially dissolved the calcite and used it as a base. It shows icy blue, botryoidal/stalactite-like formations and contrasts well against the tan colored calcite. The calcite crystals have large, sharp rhombohedral forms and allow the specimen to display in a couple of different positions. One of the calcite crystals does have a fracture running through it, however I’ve had this piece for over 10 years and it has remained stable. Material from this locale has become quite scarce over the years, especially with large statement pieces like this! This one sparkles quite a bit in person and is truly amazing. A top quality piece from this defunct location! This one is from my personal collection.
