Max bidding

Enter the most you are willing to pay. The site bids only as much as needed to keep you winning, up to your maximum. Your full max bid is not shown publicly.

Bid increments

Bids must be whole-dollar amounts. The minimum next bid follows the current price: $1 increments up to $24, $2 up to $49, $3 up to $74, $4 up to $99, $5 up to $499, $10 up to $999, and $25 at $1,000 or more.

Delayed bids

Delayed bids are saved when submitted, then activate when the auction enters closing. They must be placed at least 3 hours before the scheduled close. You may keep one delayed bid per auction, replace it with a new delayed bid, cancel it before activation, and still place immediate bids while it is scheduled.

Closing window

When an auction reaches its scheduled close time, it enters a 10-minute closing window. If a valid bid is placed during that window, the auction extends to 10 minutes from that bid. This can happen multiple times, so the auction closes only after 10 minutes pass with no new bids.

This helps prevent last-second sniping and gives interested bidders a fair chance to respond.

Reserve and payment

Some auctions may have a reserve. If the reserve is not met when the auction closes, the item does not sell. If the auction closes with a winning bidder and the reserve is met, an order is created for the winner to choose shipping and pay.

Store discounts

Store discounts and store sales do not apply to auctions. Auction pricing is determined by bidding, reserve rules, and the shipping option selected after winning.

Shipping

Auction shipping is selected during the winner's order flow. Direct shipping and Open Box may be available depending on the order and account. Open Box lets registered buyers combine eligible auction wins and store items for a later shipping invoice.
